With the 2024 Kroon-Oil Belgian Rally Championship (BRC) heading toward an epic conclusion at the Spa Rally in December, preparations are already in full swing for 2025. The Royal Automobile Club of Belgium (RACB) Sport, the BRC Promoter, and event organizers have opted for continuity in the new season’s structure – but not without a few exciting surprises along the way.
2025 BRC Calendar: 10 rallies, 2 divisions, 1 newcomer
The 2025 BRC calendar features ten events, evenly split across Division 1 (D1) and Division 2 (D2), with seven events per division. Of these, four D2 events will run alongside D1 rounds, but the new season also welcomes a fresh face: Boucles Chevrotines in Division 2, scheduled for October.
Here’s the key to success in 2025: Drivers in Division 1 can submit one result from a nominated D2 round towards their championship tally, adding a strategic twist. Meanwhile, cars from all national categories are allowed across both divisions, with adjusted point-scoring rules ensuring exciting competition throughout.
Division 1: A fight for glory
The Division 1 competition keeps its tried-and-tested scoring system, with seven rounds on the calendar. Drivers will count their best six results from eight potential scores (including one D2 result). And to raise the stakes even higher, every final stage of a Division 1 rally will serve as a power stage, offering bonus points to the fastest crews.
2025 Division 1 Calendar
- Rally van Haspengouw (22 February)
- Rallye de Wallonie (26–27 April)
- Sezoensrally (17 May)
- Ardeca Ypres Rally (27–28 June)
- A&D Omloop van Vlaanderen (5–6 September)
- East Belgian Rally (27 September)
- Spa Rally (29–30 November)
Boucles Chevrotines joins Division 2
While Division 2 remains independent, it will continue to attract a range of competitors, including RC2 and RGT cars – although these classes won’t score points in the D2 championship. Division 2 also offers drivers in Division 1 an opportunity to bolster their campaign with an additional score from a D2 event. The Boucles Chevrotines, set to run in Sivry on 11 October, brings new energy to the Division 2 calendar as a standalone rally.
2025 Division 2 Calendar
- Rallye des Ardennes (15 March)
- TAC Rally (12 April)
- Rallye de Wallonie D2 (26 April)
- Ardeca Ypres Rally D2 (28 June)
- A&D Omloop van Vlaanderen D2 (6 September)
- Boucles Chevrotines (11 October)
- Spa Rally D2 (29 November)
Keeping the racing fair and competitive
All national-spec rally cars are welcome in both divisions, but with some nuanced rules:
- Division 1: Points can only be scored by vehicles in RC2, RC3, RC4, RC5, and RGT classes.
- Division 2: RC2 and RGT cars are eligible to race but won’t score points towards the D2 title.
- Simplified Technical Requirements: RC1 cars no longer need FIA-compliant fuel tanks, and NCM-class cars no longer require a Gr.M passport.
- Day Licenses: The convenient day license system will remain, making it easier for competitors to join individual events.
An exciting season awaits
The stage is set for a thrilling 2025 season, with the best drivers competing across two divisions and new events adding fresh excitement. The Spa Rally will close out the season in both divisions, ensuring an unforgettable finish to what promises to be another fiercely contested championship.
