The sport season of two rally series (Russian and European) was finished in Novorossiysk. The final competition results gave us the winners and prize-holders of the Russian Championship and the Eastern European Cup.
After Friday’s heavy rain the road became too slippery and the main aim for the sportsmen was to find a balance between speed and caution. Unfortunately, not everyone managed to do it. It was not easy to keep a car on the narrow, slippery road with close growing trees along both sides. And besides it was necessary to pass this road spending minimum time and not to allow rivals to overtake you. Dmitry Tagirov from Yekaterinburg was the most skillful and achieved the main goal. Having won the Russian Rally Cup two weeks ago Dmitry finished season 2010 at such high and nice point.
Dmitry Zorin from Moscow gained the 2nd place in the rally and the bronze medal was gone to the Ural, to Vladimir Kilunin. Marco Tempestini, the Italian man, couldn’t keep the 2nd position, having lost two minutes because of a tyre puncture. But the 4th place was quite enough to be the holder of the Eastern European Cup – this is the second time when Tempestini won this Cup in Novorossiysk. In 2WD category the fastest was Sergey Gerashchenko who has won the first in his career Champion title.
