Pat Moro is questionable for this weekend now because of a freak engine blow up during testing. The team is currently working diligently through the night to try and get the car ready for this weekend, but it does not look promising as of right now.

Dublin, OH — Pat Moro of PMR Motorsports will be competing this weekend, November 6 & 7th at New Jersey Motorsports Park in the RallyCar Rallycross Championship. This event will change the face of rallycross in the United States with some of the best rallycross drivers from the world coming to compete.

Moro, the 2010 Rally America Super Production Champion and 2010 X Games competitor will be racing his new 2007 Subaru STi which he debuted in the summer’s X Games Rally Car Racing competition. This will be Moro’s first ever Rallycross.

“The whole rallycross thing is so new that we just need to get out there and gauge ourselves,” said Moro of this week’s event and competition. Many top tier teams from European Rallycross will be present at NJMP this weekend including Liam Doran (UK), Sverre Isachsen (Norway), Per Eklund (Sweden), and Frode Holte (Norway). Moro will also be competing against familiar US drivers Travis Pastrana, Dave Mirra, Tanner Foust, and Canadian Andrew Comrie-Picard.

“We are trying to go into the third and fourth events [RallyCar Rallycross Championship] as more of a measuring stick for next year,” said Moro. The team is still working on development of the new cars which have only been run at the X Games and will take away some much needed experience.

Experience is something that Moro continued to emphasize. “Every new US team is probably about two years behind the Europeans,” said Moro in regards to US privateer teams like PMR Motorsports. Moro sees this as a crucial developmental event where he can learn and compete alongside some of the best in the rallycross community.

Moro is no stranger to international competition and in 2009 he represented Team USA in the Rally of Nations held in Mexico. Moro is excited to once again compete against representatives from around the world as this weekend’s entry list proves it to be a host of nations of sort for the international motorsports community. This alone will make it one of the biggest rally events to happen in the US for some time, especially as the sport explodes exponentially on the US dirt, gravel, and tarmac.

Supporting Moro and PMR Motorsports in their rallycross competition is Exedy, Motul, Magnaflow, Manly, and Greddy. The team is also especially thankful to Rallyspec for all of their support.

Moro’s teammate Tim Rooney, who also competed at this summer’s X Games, will not be competing in this event.
