Off-road racing driver from the United States of America and his co-driver Sean Gallagher pulled off another Class win and the overall victory at the 2010 Southwest Rally Series’ Seed 9 Rally that took place in Jean, Nevada last month.

The two-wheel drive Bilstein/BFGoodrich-sponsored 2008 Ford F-150 Rally Racing truck was the first vehicle starting the event, with a strong entry list that included a number of all-wheel drive vehicles that started behind in two-minute intervals. From the start to the finish, the team of Holmes/Gallagher led and won all seven stages of the testing event.

The rally got underway at 4pm under warm blue desert skies and progressed well into the night, with the first two stages being run in the daylight and the other five stages in the night-time. As the sun set over the desert mountains, the monsoon thunder clouds rolled in and the skies opened with large drops falling to the ground. Holmes said about the lightning: “It was so bright and close that the flashes of lightning were just a little brighter than my 10 HID KC Hilites on the truck.”

The Seed 9 Rally took place after the SEMA show in Las Vegas where the truck was on display all week. The 2010 season ended, and Holmes finished the year second overall in the 2010 California Rally Series Championship’s Group Five (Open 2WD).
