SS1: 36.870km

SS1 of the IRC Monte Carlo Rally 2011 started off with a bang, especially for Andreas Mikkelsen (Skoda). After clipping a wall he suffered from a left rear puncture that resulted in him having to change the flat tyre and losing over nine minutes.

Thierry Neuville (Peugeot) clipped a bank has not finished the stage. Nicolas Vouilloz (Skoda) and Henning Solberg (Ford) both also picked up punctures, while Petter Solberg (Peugeot) was lucky to escape damage after clipping a wall too.
