Subaru Rally Team USA (SRT USA) returns to the 2011 Rally America National Championship at the season opener Sno*Drift Rally in northern Michigan. The team conducted a successful pre-event test earlier in Michigan ahead of the event with team drivers David Higgins and Dave Mirra. Higgins and Mirra each pilot the team’s 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally cars prepared by Vermont SportsCar.
The Sno*Drift Rally features nearly 130 miles of snow and ice-covered roads in northern Michigan with nearly one third of the miles run at night. Constantly changing weather and road conditions historically make this rally extremely challenging made even more treacherous as Rally America rules prohibit the use of spiked or studded ice tires here placing a premium on road traction.
