The Toyota Dealer Gauteng Rally, fourth round of the South African Rally Championship, ended in controversy at the RallyStar Motorsport Academy near Bapsfontein on Saturday afternoon after the actual results on the road were affected by time penalties imposed by the Motorsport South Africa (MSA) stewards on some competitors for rules infringements.

Both Castrol Team Toyota entries were among those penalised and Toyota has appealed these decisions. The results of the two-day event remain provisional until these appeals have been finalised.

The actual results on the road before the penalties were imposed were: 1 Mark Cronje/Robin Houghton (Ford Fiesta), 1h 36m 55,9s
2 Johnny Gemmell/Drew Sturrock (Castrol Toyota Auris), +58,9s
3 Charl Wilken/Greg Godrich (Ford Fiesta), +1m 30,3s
4 Enzo Kuun/Guy Hodgson (VW Polo), +1m 36,8s
5 Hergen Fekken/Pierre Arries (VW Polo), +2m 27,6s
6 Hein Lategan/Johan van der Merwe (Peugeot 207), +3m 13,4s
7 Leeroy Poulter/Elvene Coetzee (Castrol Toyota Auris), +3m 42,6s
8 Visser du Plessis/Gerhard Snyman (Peugeot 207), +4m 29,0s
