The climax of the 2024 Spanish Rally Superchampionship (S-CER) is set to unfold this weekend at the 11th Rallye Ciudad de Pozoblanco, where the season’s most fiercely contested championship will reach its thrilling conclusion.

This grand finale is heightened by the participation of Dani Sordo and Cándido Carrera, who will be piloting a Hyundai i20N Rally1 as part of Hyundai Motorsport’s ongoing development tests. Their entry adds an extra layer of excitement to this decisive rally, where Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada hold a slender six-point lead over their closest challengers, Diego Ruiloba and Ángel Vela.

The stakes are high for the Asturian Citroën Rally Team, who must clinch a victory at Pozoblanco and win the final TC Plus of the season to secure the championship. Both they and the members of Toyota Gazoo Racing Spain are in control of their destiny as they head into the competition.

José Antonio Suárez and Alberto Iglesias, standout performers this season, are returning to the Cordoba stages, where they previously triumphed, aiming to defend Škoda’s brand championship crown.

After a hiatus spanning three rallies, Iván Ares and Javier Martínez are making a comeback with their Hyundai i20N Rally2. They will be joined by Sergi Pérez and Axel Coronado, who will be wrapping up their stint in the S-CER representing Rallye Team Spain.

Adding to the mix of emerging talent, Gil Membrado, alongside ‘Jandrín’ López and now 17, will be driving a Past-Racing Ford Fiesta Rally2, marking the end of a promising campaign for the young Catalan.

The 11th Rallye Ciudad de Pozoblanco is pivotal not only for the S-CER but also for the Spanish Gravel Rally Cup (CERT – Rallycar), signaling the end of both the Rally Team Spain Junior Scholarship and the revamped Peugeot Challenge.

Fresh from securing their title at the 59th RallyRACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada, Unai de la Dehesa and Daniel Sosa debut as two-time champions on the Andalusian stages. Meanwhile, the new winners of the Clio Trophy Spain Gravel, Aritz Iriondo and Joseba Sánchez, will introduce the Dacia Sandero Eco Cup to the gravel for the first time.

Set entirely on a Saturday, this ninth and final round of the S-CER will cover seven special stages and nearly one hundred timed kilometres, offering a fitting finale to an electrifying season.
