Kenyan rally driver Karan Patel and co-driver Tauseef Khan have set their sights on a double victory this year, targeting both the Safari Rally and the African Rally Championship (ARC) titles to add to the two ARC titles already to their names. The duo, known for their impressive performances in recent seasons, are determined to make 2025 a landmark year in their motorsport careers.
According to The Star Kenya, Patel and Khan have been intensifying their preparations, focusing on both physical and technical aspects of their campaign. The Safari Rally, round three of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) on 20-23 March, remains one of the most challenging events on the calendar, while the ARC title would cement their status as Africa’s top rallying pair.
The 2025 ARC season promises to be highly competitive, with five rounds scheduled across the continent. The championship will kick off in March with the Safari Rally, then the iconic Peral of Africa Uganda Rally in May, followed by the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally in July, Rallye International du Burundi in August, and concluding with the Rally of Tanzania in September. Each round presents unique challenges, from rough terrains to unpredictable weather conditions, testing the skills and resilience of drivers and co-drivers alike.

In an interview with The Star Kenya, co-driver Tausef Khan expressed confidence in their ability to compete at the highest level, stating, “We plan to try to defend our ARC title, which will mean we win it for a third consecutive time. It’s not an easy journey, but we thank our team for supporting us and being with us throughout this journey.”
The pair’s 2024 season was marked by consistent performances, including podium finishes in several ARC events. Their experience and chemistry in the car have been key factors in their success, and they are optimistic about carrying that momentum into 2025.
