The 109th edition of the Targa Florio is set to captivate motorsport enthusiasts from 8 to 10 May 2025, as it returns to the iconic roads of Sicily, blending the allure of historical competition with the vibrancy of modern rallying.

The event, organized by the Automobile Club d’Italia and the Automobile Club Palermo with the backing of the Sicilian Region, promises a spectacular celebration stretching from Palermo to the Madonie. Documentation for the event, including details for the CIAR Sparco, Tricolore Rally Storici, CRZ, and the Italian Rally Championship of Historic Regularity Cars, can be accessed on the official websites targa-florio.it and acisport.it. All these races will count towards the Sicilian Championship.

This year’s race hub is the University of Palermo, particularly at the Historical Museum of Motors and Mechanisms of the University Museum System in Viale delle Scienze, Building 8. This venue, previously host to the Targa Florio Classica, will now serve as the central point for all event activities including technical and sports checks, team support, stage starts, and the awards ceremony. This offers the university community a unique opportunity to engage directly with the behind-the-scenes operations of the race.

The event officially kicks off with the Departure Ceremony at 6:30 pm on Thursday, 8 May, in the elegant Piazza Verdi in front of Palermo’s Teatro Massimo. This marks a momentous occasion where drivers will once again feel the embrace of Sicily’s enthusiastic and supportive public.

The Targa Florio 2025 stands as the third round of the Italian Absolute Rally Sparco Championship (CIAR), the Historic Rally Targa Florio, the Coppa Rally di Zona (CRZ), and the Italian Rally Championship of Historic Regularity Cars. It is a pivotal event in Italy’s motorsports calendar, supported by ACI Sport Sicilia Delegation.

The 2025 edition will feature both historic rally cars retracing the legendary routes of the Madonie and modern rally cars tackling challenging tracks. The race will include four special stages to be run three times each: the 10 km historic “Targa” stage, the 12.60 km “Campofelice – Collesano” stage, the 13.15 km “Scillato” stage, and the 2.25 km “La Generosa” stage, totaling 781.29 km, with 113.70 km of special stages.

The event will be covered live on ACI Sport TV, available on Sky channel 228 and TivùSat channel 52, ensuring extensive local and international media coverage. The Targa Florio is more than just a race; it’s a festival that celebrates the rich blend of motorsport, history, and Sicilian culture through various sporting and cultural events.

Reflecting on last year’s race, Andrea Crugnola and Pietro Elia Ometto triumphed in the Citroen C3 Rally2, marking Crugnola’s third victory at this prestigious event. They were closely followed by Giandomenico Basso and Lorenzo Granai in the Toyota Yaris Rally2, with Simone Campedelli and Tania Canton securing third in the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. The best performing Sicilian, Andrea Nucita, drove a Hyundai to success in the CRZ category, while historical and regularity categories saw victories for Totò Riolo and Maurizio Marin in a Porsche, and Paolo and Fabio Verdona in a Peugeot, respectively.

Mark your calendars for an enthralling journey through time and competition at the Targa Florio 2025, where history meets the adrenaline of modern rallying in the heart of Sicily.
