Sarah Rumeau and Julie Amblard claimed a fifth-place finish on their return to the French Gravel Rally Championship (CFRT) at Rally Castine Terre d’Occitanie.

Changeable conditions on the opening day meant the pair struggled to find their feet over the first six stages, but provided an opportunity to gain experience and experiment with setups on their Citroen C3 Rally2. They ended the first day in seventh overall.

The second day brought more consistent conditions, allowing the crew to increase their pace and move up the order. A pair of top-three stage times proved their speed, and they improved to fifth place overall at the end of the event.

Sarah said: “The first day was difficult for us, and I struggled for confidence. The second day was drier and I was able to find a better rhythm. I was very happy to finish this rally, and we were able to work a lot on the car and find a better feeling. Now we’re focused on the next round of the WRC at the Rally de Portugal.”
