Northamptonshire co-driver Cat Lund was presented with the prestigious British Women Racing Drivers Club (BWRDC) Co-drivers Trophy at their awards ceremony last Saturday (26th February).
Following her successful 2010 season winning the Flanders International Rally Challenge (FIRC) championship, the 39-year-old scored enough points in the BWRDC’s own championship to take top honours for co-driving in a Mitsubishi Evo III with Andy Rowe in the FIRC and in the UK.
The co-driver was also awarded the BWRDC’s GoldStar Club Award for 2011 at the recent Autosport show, in recognition of her achievements in the 2010 season.
Cat said, “To win the FIRC, the GoldStar, and now the BWRDC Co-drivers Championship is very special, and I’m delighted to have been presented with such a fabulous trophy. The BWRDC continues to support and recognise the achievements of women in motorsport and it is a real honour to be part of such an amazing club.”
Cat and her driving partner Andy will be contesting the FIRC again in their Evo III in 2011, with the Challenge kicking off at the end of May with the ORC Canal Rally in Oostrozebeke, West Flanders.
