As the frontrunners of the WRC Rally Argentina head back to Day One’s midday service, Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team) is reaping the rewards of a tactical call to lower his Ford’s suspension before the start of the part-tarmac SS4. He has stretched his lead over Citroen DS3 WRC privateer Petter Solberg to 12.3s, while the Citroen Total World Rally Team pairing of Sebastiens Ogier and Loeb lie third and fourth, 16.2s and 18.9s off the lead. Mikko Hirvonen slips to fifth overall, 1.1s behind Loeb. Mads Ostberg heads the M-Sport Stobart Ford contingent in sixth, but the margin to Hirvonen is a cavernous 1m14.4s.
