The 2025 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) is set to dazzle with a spectacular 14-round calendar, featuring exciting new destinations in Spain, Paraguay, and Saudi Arabia.
Kicking off in late January, the WRC will commence amidst the glitz and glamour of Monte-Carlo. From there, the championship will traverse four continents, covering Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America, before concluding in Saudi Arabia in late November. This marks the largest WRC calendar since 2008.
The first three rounds will maintain a familiar structure from 2024, with Rally Sweden taking place in Umeå in February, followed by the legendary Safari Rally Kenya in March.
In a highly anticipated debut, the Canary Islands will host a WRC round for the first time, marking the championship’s return to Spain after a two-year hiatus. The rally will feature winding, smooth Tarmac stages, with the added challenge of dense fog as competitors navigate the mountainous terrain of the islands.
May will see thousands of fans flock to northern Portugal for the Vodafone Rally de Portugal, followed by the WRC’s second island stop in Sardinia in June.
June will also see the return of the iconic EKO Acropolis Rally Greece to its traditional date, setting the stage for a high-speed European summer with rallies in Estonia and Finland. Estonia, after a year in the European Rally Championship (ERC), is back on the WRC calendar, highlighting the successful transition of events between the ERC and WRC, a pattern seen with Rally Islas Canarias, Rally Poland, and Rally Latvia.
Late August will bring the WRC to South America, with Paraguay making its debut on the calendar. This rally, set against the stunning backdrop of the Paraná River, will challenge drivers on red gravel roads. Just two weeks later, the WRC heads to Rally Chile Bio Bío, continuing the South American adventure.
October sees the return of the Central European Rally for the third consecutive season, where drivers will contend with varying Tarmac surfaces across Austria, Czech Republic, and Germany, with the unpredictable autumn weather adding an extra layer of challenge.
The season’s final stretch takes the WRC back to Japan in November for the last Tarmac test of the year. The 2025 season will then conclude with the highly-anticipated debut of Rally Saudi Arabia, where each day will offer distinct and diverse terrains.
