Aberangell based teenager Osian Pryce survived a day of dramas on the recent Cambrian Rally to take his fifth podium position since gaining his driving licence just seven months ago! Osian and co-driver Iestyn Williams overcame brake issues and a time consuming puncture to finish third in class on the Llandudno based rally.

17 year old Osian was at the wheel of a G & M Pryce, Sbardun Motorsport and Morris Plant Hire backed Ford Fiesta ST and was to experience a day of dramas as brake issues in the morning cost him time and dented his confidence. This also caused a time consuming overshoot in the second stage. Despite these issues young Pryce was still second in class, just a handful of seconds behind the leader at the half way point. A puncture less than a mile into the final stage of the rally ended his hopes of a class win and Osian was forced to nurse the car to the end, dropping to third in class N3 as a result!

“After trading times with the eventual class winner all day it was a bit disappointing to finish third in the end,” said Pryce. “The stages were great, but really tricky and slippery… ideal practice for Wales Rally GB, which I am really looking forward to!”

Osian and Iestyn will next contest the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship which is the Cardiff based Wales Rally GB. This event will mark Osians debut in the premier series of motor rallying in the world! With Wales Rally GB using stages near to Osians home on the opening day the 17 year old will be hoping for a lot of local support as he raises awareness for Ysgol Botwnog, a local school which runs a motorsport initiative.
