Irish band Dance to Tipperary have swept music’s best-selling lists for over a decade with their unique sound and style. Their foresight to embrace the digital music landscape has boosted their popularity not only in Ireland but in the United Kingdom too, and has moved their music into new segments while allowing the powerful and iconic Dance To Tipperary sound to shine through.
Sport, and rallying in particular, has been a tremendous marketing tool for Dance To Tipperary launching their music to new fans. In 2007 when the World Rally Championship visited Ireland for the first time, Dance To Tipperary recorded the hit single “Its Rally Ireland Time.” This track went on to become a number one best seller in Ireland and across the waters too.
Dance To Tipperary started in London in 1998 in the UK dance scene, and they brought dance beats to Irish music. This was in the heat of the world’s Riverdance love affair, and Dance To Tipperary released their first album in 1999 to acclaim from music lovers.
The band also dedicated a song and music video in December 2001 to Emma, Mark and Bertie Fisher called “Great Moments with You” and have further entrenched their connections with rallying and its loyal supporters. Emma, Mark and Bertie were tragically lost to the world in a helicopter crash. For the band this single marked their seventh chart-topping single in a row.
Daniel Barry and Martin Brady (Barry Motorsports Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX) have for 2010 entered selected rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge series and will this weekend be tackling the testing stages of the IRC Rally of Scotland. Stickered up in Dance To Tipperary colours and logos, this Irish rally crew will be aiming for a top result. The band has supported this exciting rally team throughout 2010, and for this rally new logos will be seen on the car to celebrate the band’s more than ten years at the forefront of the music scene.
Their new studio album, “Return To Me”, was released on 01 March 2010, and it features 11 new tracks from the band including the singles “Outta My Head”, “What Kind Of World Would This World Be” written by acclaimed American songwriter Diane Warren and the epic title track “Return To Me”, as well as the Dance To Tipperary party influenced fare such as “Drink, Drink, Drink” and “Hungry”.
The second single “I’m Sorry” from the new album will be released on 19 November. More than a decade on Dance To Tipperary the Irish music hit continues.
