Toni Gardemeister will contest more rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge this season with his own team, reported Max Rally this week.
Gardemeister finished 10th on the Monte Carlo Rally last month and has formed TGS Worldwide to contest several rounds of the Eurosport-backed series.
“TGS is a new brand in motorsport, but it is based on many years of experience,” said the former Ford, Seat and Skoda WRC driver. “All our mechanics and engineers have a great experience in rally and worked with me during a long time on different world events. I’m absolutely confident in their skills and sure that my team is the best way to realise all my future plans.”
Details of Gardemeister’s programme of events and choice of car are due to be announced shortly. However, the 35-year-old has confirmed Tapio Suominen will navigate him in place of Tomi Tuominen, who is set to retire from the sport.
