Revolution Wheels-backed Historic rally driver David Stokes and Guy Weaver enjoyed their first finish of the 2010 Dunlop/ Wonago.com MSA British Historic Rally Championship by taking a class win and finishing second overall on last weekends Severn Valley Rally in Wales.

Former champion Stokes, at the wheel of a Ford Escort Mk 1, survived a high speed off road excursion, caused by hanging dust, on the second stage. After loosing nearly thirty seconds with this indiscretion he staged a magnificent fight back to clinch the victory on a final stage charge through the high speed Radnor test, winning the 15 mile stage and doing enough to take the class win!

Stokes said: “After two non-finishes earlier in the season it is good to be back at the finish. Today was tough as the hanging dust made life interesting, but it is the same for everyone so we can’t complain. The car was great and we were really lucky to get away with our moment on stage 2 when we went off down a foot path for quite some way!”
