The Wladoil/Bellotto Africa Rally Team have confirmed that lead driver and former Kenyan National Rally Champion, Lee Rose, will contest this weekends KCB Simba Savings Rally despite his own Mitsubishi Evo rally car not being ready. Instead Rose will now use the teams ex Quentin Mitchell Mitsubishi Evo 8 for the event.

After Rose rolled his own car on a non championship event only a few weeks ago the team were hard pressed to prepare the Mitsubishi Evo 9 for this weekend and team manager Giancarlo Ciaraldi has kindly offered Rose the use of the Mitsubishi Evo 8 for this the fourth round of the Kenyan National Rally Championship.

Rose said: “I have to say a massive thanks to Giancarlo for allowing us to use his car for this rally. My game plan has changed and we must focus on damage limitation this weekend and rather than set out to win the rally we must concentrate on a solid points haul!”

The KCB Simba Savings Rally begins with a super special stage at the Meru Showgrounds on Friday afternoon. The rally itself consists of 11 special stages, all within clear view of the mighty Mount Kenya. The event is the fourth rally in an eight round calendar and Rose, who will be co-driven by Piers Daykin once again, is still very much in the title hunt following his success on the KCB Safari Rally in April.

The team is supported by Wladoil Lubricants and Bellotto Competition Products. Wladoil are producers of high quality racing lubricants and fuels, essential products in the high octane world of motor rallying whilst Bellotto are agents for both BF Goodrich and Pirelli Tyres as well as the dependable OZ rally wheels.
