The *Ultimate Rally Challenge will take place on Sunday 3rd October at the Sweet Lamb Rally Complex – possibly the best and most popular single venue in the UK! To guarantee your entry, Send It Today! A maximum number of 40 cars will be accepted on a first come first served basis. “We do expect a large reserve listing”, said Chris Tomley, joint Clerk of the Course. Chris also remarked, “With 14 entries already signed up, we are getting close to the halfway point!” There are 4 classes in all – 2 for Ford Escorts and 2 Open Categories.
Mark Higgins, who currently tops the entry list said, “I am delighted to have confirmed our entry and to support the event running on the Dmack grippa 13inch tyres, I am looking forward to trying something new and think the event will attract lots of quick Escort drivers so we can have a good days sport”. Dmack grippa Tyres supremo, Dick Cormack commented, “Having a driver of Mark’s calibre enter the event is a real plus, I am sure that these type of events will become more and more popular in the future and I hope it will encourage other teams and drivers to sample the event”.
Latest entry received today comes from Mark Solloway who intends to win the event in his Escort…now that’s the gauntlet thrown down!
Spectacular Epynt class winning driver Jay Stanley who will be entering his Ford Escort Mk2 said, “This is the perfect opportunity to compete with the best drivers in the UK and at a fantastic spectator venue – what else do you want?”
Scrutineering and fitting of the **’Dmack grippa’ tyres will take place on Saturday 2nd October at Sweet Lamb with a Press Day schedule to take place later. Sunday 3rd October begins with a reconnaissance of the stage followed by three competitive runs in an anti-clockwise direction and in the afternoon, three runs in a clockwise loop – class awards will be presented.
A final showdown for the top 10 overall drivers will result in the Ultimate Rally Challenge Champion!
***Awards for 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall drivers will be presented for the shootout, with a £1000 prize for the Ultimate Champion!
