The Toyota Dealer 400 off-road race, Round Two of the ABSA South African Off-Road Racing Championship, takes place this weekend in Mpumalanga.
After a hotly contested Round One in the Western Cape last month, saw Hannes Grobler/Hennie ter Stege (RFS BMW X3) claimed the first win of the season in the Production Cars Category and Colin Matthews/Alan Smith (Century Racing CR3) took honours in the Special Vehicles Category.
A total of 20 SP Class cars have entered this event, bolstered by numerous Class D and Class E runners. Class P entrants in for the Special Vehicles Category have proven as quick as their rivals in Class A, and have already claimed three overall wins since this event last year.
The tough route for this weekend’s race is a demanding one, as is always expected in this rough and tumble championship, and with a bevy of top-fl ight crews not scoring points at the first round this will be the event for
them to strike back at their fast fellow competitors.
