Get ready for a truly special celebration of rally history as Rallylegend 2024 gears up to showcase 130 teams from 26 nations. Expect a spectacular mix of legendary rally cars and world-class champions, plus over 60 Legend Stars who will light up the stages from October 10-13. The Republic of San Marino will once again transform into a rally paradise, hosting one of the most iconic events in the motorsport calendar. This year’s edition marks several key anniversaries, bringing together a dazzling array of cars and drivers from every rallying era.

The event honours 50 years since the Lancia Stratos clinched its first world title, 40 years since Audi’s legendary World Rally Championship triumph, and introduces the all-new LegenDakar, featuring a lineup of rally raid greats like Jacky Ickx, Ari Vatanen, and Jutta Kleinschmidt. The latest addition promises to be a thrilling window into the history of the Dakar Rally, spotlighting historic vehicles and top drivers in action.

A Gathering of Rally Greats

From historic champions to current WRC stars, Rallylegend is where rallying royalty converge. Stig Blomqvist, the 1984 WRC Champion, will be at the wheel of his iconic Audi Quattro to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his world title win. Meanwhile, current WRC driver Adrien Fourmaux will put the latest in rally technology to the test, taking on the legendary stages in the Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1.

Formula 1 ace-turned-rally driver Heikki Kovalainen is set to compete in a Citroën C3 WRC Plus, alongside seasoned co-driver Janne Ferm. François Delecour, the 1993 WRC runner-up, will thrill fans with his Peugeot 306 Maxi, while Romain Dumas showcases his prowess in a Porsche Carrera GT3. The German duo of Armin and Fabio Schwarz will also be in action, with father Armin behind the wheel of an Audi Quattro Coupé Group A and Fabio piloting a rare Hyundai Accent WRC.

Celebrating the Legends

Legendary rally names like Miki Biasion and Gustavo Trelles will bring their impressive rally machines to San Marino, with Biasion in an Eberhard&Co-branded Lancia 037 and Trelles in a Subaru Impreza Group A. Meanwhile, Raymond Breen will honour his son, the late Craig Breen, in a Subaru Legacy, ensuring that the spirit of rallying lives on.

Italian legends will also take to the stages, with the multi-titled Piero Longhi in a Skoda Fabia Rally2 and Luca Pedersoli in a Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC Plus. Joining them is Alberto Battistolli, known for his spectacular driving in a Lancia 037, and Fabrizio Ratiglia, who will exhibit a former Aghini Peugeot 405 MI16.

New for 2024: LegenDakar

One of the standout additions for this year is LegenDakar, celebrating the history of the legendary Dakar Rally. The event will feature a lineup of 23 historic Dakar vehicles, from the Porsche 953 to the colossal MAN trucks and Mitsubishi off-roaders. Fans will get a rare chance to see these Dakar giants up close, with static displays in Rally Village and dynamic exhibitions around “The Legend” stage on Friday and Saturday.

50 Years of the Lancia Stratos

Rallylegend 2024 will celebrate five decades since the Lancia Stratos took the World Rally Championship by storm. Expect to see a dozen pristine Stratos models, adorned in classic Alitalia, Marlboro, and Pirelli liveries, driven by the likes of Sandro Munari, Adartico Vudafieri, and Tony Fassina—each showcasing the car’s unmatched heritage and timeless beauty.

40 Years of Audi’s Dominance

It’s been 40 years since Audi’s legendary Quattro cars clinched the World Rally Championship titles in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ categories. Rallylegend will mark this milestone with a gathering of 15 Audis, including the late Christof Klausner’s meticulously restored Audi Quattro A2. The car will be driven by Christof’s brother, Thomas Klausner, adding an emotional touch to the event.

Spectacular Showdowns

The line-up for this year’s Rallylegend promises to be nothing short of electrifying. Finnish star Heikki Kovalainen will take on Adrien Fourmaux, while rallycross ace Ole Christian Veiby returns to San Marino in a Volkswagen Polo WRX. Italian legends Arturo Merzario and Tony Fassina will show off their Lancia Stratos cars in exhibition laps, while Swiss and Argentinean rally champions Chantal Galli and Karina Dobal will represent female rallying talent on the Legend Stars roster.
