Michael Rendina, the promising young driver from Rome and son of former world champion Max Rendina, is gearing up for a significant season. In 2025, he will undertake a full schedule in the Italian Absolute Two-Wheel Drive Rally Championship (CIAR), enhancing his commitment with additional entries in two Italian Rally Terra Championship events. He will pilot the Renault Clio Rally4, prepared by Motorsport Italia, with Alice Caprile as his co-driver and equipped with Pirelli tires.
This marks a pivotal advancement for Michael Rendina. Having accumulated valuable experience in recent seasons, he is ready to challenge himself further. “I am thrilled to tackle such a competitive championship with a comprehensive program,” Rendina Jr. expressed. “Having competed in various races of the Italian championship previously, it felt natural to elevate my commitment. The Italian Two-Wheel Drive Championship is highly technical and fiercely competitive. With the inclusion of the Lancia Trophy, which also features Rally4 cars, the championship is set to intensify this year, both in terms of the number of participants and the caliber of competition. I’m eager to be part of this and am determined to continuously improve with each race.”
In addition to the seven rounds of the Italian CIAR Two-Wheel Drive Championship, Rendina Jr. will also participate in the Rally di Foligno and the San Marino Rally, two events from the Italian Rally Terra Championship that promise to enrich his development further. This decision also mirrors the path of Max, who had a preference for dirt rallies due to their complexity and the preparatory experience they offer.
“San Marino and Foligno are both highly technical rallies that will provide invaluable experience across different terrains. Foligno, marking the season’s first official outing, will be a critical platform to familiarize myself with the car, particularly on dirt,” Rendina noted. “San Marino, a historic and perhaps one of Italy’s most scenic dirt rallies, will allow me to further my experience. I am confident this season will be both challenging and exhilarating, thanks to the support of the team, Alice, and all our partners backing this venture.”
The season kicks off with the Rally di Foligno, scheduled for March 8-9.
