The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual gathering of petrol-head connoisseurs, and the 2010 edition promises to be a true treat!

About 175,000 spectators are expected to visit the show this year, and the world’s largest celebration of motoring culture sees the very best and most iconic take to its Forest Rally Stage.

The Citroen C4 WRC of Sebastien Loeb will be on display at the Citroen stand, and he will be piloting his machine on the Forest Rally Stage during the course of the weekend.

Also on the Forest Rally Stage will be American driver Ken Block showcasing his 800+bhp Ford Fiesta rally car, and joining him will be Miki Biasion, Bjorn Waldegard, Jimmy McRae, Russell Brookes and Rauno Aaltonen in the sport’s historic rally cars.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the RAC Rally Great Britain, the predecessor of today’s Rally GB. Goodwood Festival of Speed will pay tribute to this momentous occasion with a gathering of rare cars and talented drivers from previous eras.

Toyota will also be in attendance, and are showcasing their World Rally Championship cars this weekend. This includes their Celica Twin Cam TA64, the 380bhp Group B monster that competed from 1983 to 1986 and was hailed as the “King of Africa” for its dominance of the Safari and Ivory Coast rallies; the Celica ST185, the car that brought Carlos Sainz, Juha Kankkunen and Didier Auriol their WRC Drivers’ Championship titles from 1992 to 1994 and also Toyota’s first WRC Manufacturers’ title in 1993. Also on the Forest Rally Stage and on display will be the Corolla WRC that claimed a total of 25 WRC podium results between 1997 and 1999.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is not the world’s largest motoring festival for nothing; motorsport is celebrated in all its forms this weekend!
