Chevrolet WTCC driver Yvan Muller has entered this year’s WRC Rally de France.

The 2008 WTCC champion, who will be co-driven by Gilles Mondésir, is to drive Petter Solberg’s Citroen Xsara WRC that the Norwegian used during the 2009 World Rally Championship. The car has been entered by the Automeca team.

This will be Yvan Muller’s first time competing in a rally at world championship level.

“If circuit racing has become my speciality, I believe it is important to welcome new experiences,” said Yvan Muller. “It’s a definite plus. Rallying at this level has always been something I would have liked to do, and today I’m very proud to see the Rally Of France project become a reality. It’s also a great chance to re-discover the roads around my own home!”

The Alsace based event takes place from 1-3 October 2010.
