Cumbrian based M-Sport, the company that runs Ford’s rally programme in the FIA World Rally Championship, have today confirmed that they will continue their long-term partnership with 3M Peltor.

The tie-up will see Peltor continue as a product supplier to the WRC team and supply equipment for the new FIA WRC Academy. 3M Peltor has been a partner of M-Sport since 2005 and is a world leader in the field of communication equipment and head protection.

The global company has over 50 years experience of developing and manufacturing hearing protectors which has helped put them at the forefront of safety, comfort and aesthetics.

Patrik Andersson, European Motorsport Manager said: “For almost a decade, Ford M-sport have relied on 3M™ Peltor™ products in the struggle to win the world championship title. Our long relationship, and constant contact with the team and drivers has helped us to better understand and develop specific communication solutions for the Motorsport environment. The experience of developing Motorsport products has also been used to create, enhance and produce solutions for other applications where noise is a problem.”

Andrew Wheatley, M-Sport Business Development Manager said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with 3M Peltor – their technical collaboration has been hugely beneficial to the team over the years. Rallying is a sport that is reliant on communication so we feel that the partnership is a natural fit. It is great that 3M Peltor will also extend their support to the new WRC Academy in 2011 — introducing a new generation of WRC competitors to Peltor products. We look forward to continue working closely with 3M Peltor for the sixth consecutive year.”
