From the snow and ice in Sweden, the WRC have travelled to the sunny and warm Mexico. We are ready for the round two of the 2011 WRC.

Petter Solberg World Rally Team is on sight in León, inside the Poliforum, where the servicepark is based. All our TOOLS and equipment have travelled in a container on a boat, and the rallycar arrived by airfreight just before the weekend.

Rally Mexico is based in the city of León, the 5th biggest city in Mexico with 1,3 million people. 22 stages are waiting and the surface is gravel. León is 1800m above sea level, and stages are all from 1800mtrs to 2700mtrs above sea level. Rally Mexico is the first event for the PSWRT as a WRC team, and we are able to score points in the manufacturers championship.

“Im really looking forward to compete with the DS3 for the first time on gravel,” says Petter Solberg. “We had one test day in France last week, where we focused on finding the best set up for the Mexican stages, and I’m confident we now have the best one. Starting as the fifth car on the first day is also good, and I think start position will be the key factor for this rally.”

Petter Solberg ended second in Mexico in 2010, after a close fight with Sebastien Ogier on the final day. Rally Mexico gets underway with a super special in the city of Guanajuato on Thursday evening. Mexico time is GMT – 6hrs.
