The Jordan Rally, scheduled for this Thursday to Saturday, is facing a time crisis at present. Crews are not able to run the two prescribed recces to write their pace notes. At the time of writing this report, it appears that the rescheduled start for Tuesday morning also be postponed as a result of further delays.

Political unrest in Syria has slowed the transport of the WRC cars and equipment from their bases in Europe, with team machinery supposed to have arrived this evening. Adding to the organisers’ headaches, the boat carrying the WRC teams from Trieste, Italy to Haifa, Israel suffered technical problems when one of its two engines stopped working.

For previous editions of this event, teams travelled to Jordanvia the Suez Canal to Aqaba, south Jordan, and then continue by road to the Rally HQ. However, the political unrest in Egypt and Syria, teams decided to travel from Italy to Israel by sea. Drivers, co-drivers and team managers anxiously await the arrival of their rally cars to battle it out over the fast and sweeping Jordan gravel speed tests.
