M-Sport Stobart Ford’s Matthew Wilson took Porto FC Manager André Villas-Boas for a thrilling ride at Vodafone Rally de Portugal’s Shakedown yesterday.
Britain’s Wilson and co-driver Scott Martin did three laps of a 3 km test loop at Loule before Villas-Boas replaced Martin in their Ford Fiesta RS World Rally Car.
A host of local media and TV crews were there to interview Villas-Boas where he was accompanied by FIA Vice President and President of the Portuguese Automobile Club, Carlos Barbosa.
“That was just incredible,” said Villas-Boas after his ride in the Fiesta RS WRC. “I had no idea what to expect but the speed was just unbelievable. Thank you to ACP, Matthew and the M-Sport Stobart team for this unforgettable experience. I wish them the best of luck over the weekend.”
The third round of the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship starts tomorrow with a brand new street stage in Lisbon and finishes on Sunday 27 March after the drivers have completed 385.37 km of competitive distance.
