Question: Having finished third at the Acropolis Rally for the last two years, how confident are you that you can be on the podium again?
Dani Sordo: “Honestly, I have a lot of confidence for the rally, I’m motivated and prepared. I hope and I have the feeling I can do a good result. It’s a rally that’s hard for the drivers and cars, but I am normally good on this event.”
How difficult is the Acropolis Rally and what are the specific challenges you face as a driver?
DS: “The Acropolis Rally surface is famous for being hard on the tyres, the cars, the drivers, everybody. Last year we had really bad rain during the recce and it was even more difficult. But normally it’s because you have many stones in the road, stones everywhere, and the temperature makes it hard for the cars, so this is the big challenge.”

In terms of car set-up and performance, what areas will you be focusing on?
DS: “The car needs to be higher from the road because of the stones. In the last few years it was not really, really bad, but you need to change the set-up a bit to make it more specific for the really rough sections.”
What level of belief does your podium in Sardinia give you – another hot and tricky gravel event after all?
DS: “After the podium in Sardinia I felt really good and I was feeling good in the test. I have a lot of confidence in the car, and it’s improving all the time.”
The championship is reaching a crucial period with four rallies left. What can you do to help Thierry and Ott?
DS: “The championship is quite close now with Ott, Thierry and Elfyn [Evans], and [Sébastien] Ogier is also closing hard, so we need to take care about him. I will do my best to help Thierry and Ott. Okay, Ott is a little further back, but I would really like Thierry to take the championship after many years. I just really want to do a good result for the team.”
What’s your favourite Acropolis Rally moment?
DS: “I don’t have any favourite moment but it’s always nice on this rally when you make a good stage or a good result. Last year was nice at the end of the rally because we were fighting for a good position with Evans and I had fun.”
