SS8: Petter into the lead
Citroen privateer Petter Solberg emerged from the repeated Cassidy section (SS8) as leader of Rally New Zealand and the man with the dubious honour of being first in Saturday’s start order.
Solberg was the fastest driver through Cassidy, to move back into the rally lead he lost on SS3. Jari-Matti Latvala and Sebastien Ogier slipped behind Solberg into second and third places respectively. With just the 1.5km Auckland Domain Super Special stage to run today, only 6.7sec separates the top four drivers.
